This week has certainly been full of learning which has helped me establish a new goal; that I want to successfully co-facilitate and deliver at some point during my internship.
I spent Tuesday working on, and planning sessions, that will be delivered to two of our clients, one this week and one next. It was a great day spent analysing the flow of the days, what should be included and what would be most beneficial for each group. Such careful and thoughtful preparation goes in to each and every session and it was really motivating being involved in decisions with the opportunity of offering a fresh perspective and opinion on tools and different materials.
Every experience I have here reinforces for me the importance of what we do in todays’ corporate world, as well as in our personal lives. Mindset and self-awareness are the themes which really encompass the majority of the work that we do. I firmly believe in one of my favourite quotes; ‘By changing your mind, you change everything’ (author unknown).
Our ethos is all about helping people to truly understand that and use its power to be able to unlock the true person they are and release the vast amounts of potential they possess. There is something very unique and special about being part of a team that can reach out to so many people in so many different ways. The learning never ends; neither do your opportunities as long as you have the right mindset.
This week I learnt a lot, hearing about different experiences and talking through how we can most effectively get results with different clients. One session we worked through is based around the issue of communication. However, before effective interactions can be considered it is first essential that individuals work on self-awareness which has such a huge impact on relationships, and consequently communication.
I learnt about tools and models such as ‘Logical Levels’, ‘The EQ Model’, ‘Reframing’ and many more. They all have such powerful messages and can provoke such influential changes. I’m excited to have been present at the planning stage and looking forward to being there next week seeing it work with our client.
